I fucking hate this truly awful advert. You can have those things without losing weight - even if you’re overweight *shock fucking horror* They’ve somehow managed to find another way to sugar coat body negativity messages.

I can’t..

Big companies make money out of people’s misery. And if they aren’t miserable enough, well they take care of creating it too.

Don’t fall in advertisement trap, they only care about your money, not you.

What I really hate about this, all of this, is that they have a product to sell and people will buy into it. No one is going to advertise “eating healthier” to the general public, because you can’t make money out of it. You don’t benefit from telling people to eat healthier, but you benefit when you sell them a product that’s not really going to benefit them in any way.

I just wish people would stop trying to look for ways around ‘eating healthier and exercising for 30 minutes a day.’ If losing weight is really what you want, doing that really isn’t all that bad. I’m so sick of people telling me that I shouldn’t eat so much fruit because it has so much sugar, yet it’s okay to eat cereal brands that have ingredients I can’t even pronounce. Because I’m sicking of people telling me that it’s okay to eat those ~ 100 calorie snacks ~ but it’s not okay to eat a banana at night.

Ugh I just hate society so much sometimes. Sorry but if you really think that eating Special K cereal is going to help you gain joy, fab, and confidence, you need to rethink and regroup because it’s not. I’ve been down that route, and it didn’t make me feel any better. The only thing I learned from it is that I fell into someone’s advertising gimmick.

I’m not even sure if I made any sense, but I hope I got my message/rant/point across. Oh and I also hate how they’re implying that you gain confidence when you lose weight; please just stop advertising that to the general public - I personally see it as another way of body shaming so shame on you Special K.

I agree, buying a box of Special is not going to magically make you thinner. And yes, a previous blogger makes a really great point. Unprocessed foods are always gonna be a better choice: banana over non fat no “sugar” cookies, should be a no brainer. But as we know all to well, the people who want to give nutrition advice, are usually idiots.

If you’ve ever had to lose weight, I mean a lot of weight- Not 5 lbs but, more than 50? Not because you want to look attractive, but because you are borderline diabetic, have hyptertension, sleep apnea, or high cholesterol?

The love your body as it is, is a great thing. But to keep it all real, some of us (myself included) are just too fat.

And when you step on a scale, and see that you’ve lost 30 lbs, you DO feel MORE CONFIDENT. Six months later, still kept it off? And you no longer have to take hypertension meds, You’re badass.

So I take issue with saying you can get those things- confidence, joy, etc- without dropping some pounds. Of course you can, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t.
